Mr. Kirit Ajmera, Founder of JKDIGJ, born in Burma (Mandalay) in a Jain family, started his career in diamond market in 1976 with trading and jewelry business. In 1987, during the progressive year of the diamond market, several people asked him about a suitable place to learn diamond grading. There was no suitable place that provided practical training. Inspired by the interest of the people, he launched courses of Polished and Rough Diamond Grading as per international standards in 1989 at J K Building, Opera House.
In India, diamond certification has commenced since the year 2000, whereas Mr. Kirit Ajmera, Founder, JKDIGJ, conducted certified Polished Diamond Grading and Rough Diamond Grading courses since 1989
The demand for Gems & Jewelry (‘G&J’) professionals is rising at an incremental rate. Hence, JKDIGJ is committed to ensure contribution to skill development in India in a resourceful manner by providing a platform for educational development in the G&J industry.
