Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon was established in the Year 1998. The college is Approved by AICTE, New Delhi, India, and is Permanently affiliated with Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana.

Four Branches of the college (CSE,MECH, ECE & IT) were Accredited by NBA in May 2007 and Three branches were Re-accredited (CSE,IT & MECH) by NBA in Oct 2011.College is also Accredited by NAAC in Sept 2005 and Re-accredited by NAAC in March 2012. College is recognized under 12(f) and 2(b) by University Grant Commission (UGC) Act 1956.  CSE, IT and ECE Departments received the highest rating in the survey conducted by AICTE - CII in 2014.  College is ISO Certified for 9001-2008 and 14001-2004.

College received the Outstanding Institution Award by NITTTR, Chandigarh in 2013-14. Remote Center of IIT Bombay / IIT Kharagpur and NITTTR Chandigarh to conduct various ISTE workshops under NMEICT project. College is Resource Centre of IIT Bombay for Spoken Tutorial Project, Active College for NPTEL (IIT Madras) Local Chapter and also developed a Lab of Control System as a Nodal Center of Virtual Lab for IIT Delhi.
