Government Polytechnic Jammu is one of the oldest Diploma Engineering Institute of the country. The Institution received Centre of Excellence award in 1999. Since inception in 1960 till date, courseS related to market/industrial need are added from time to time.
The college is affiliated to Jammu & Kashmir State Board of Technical Education.

Govt. Polytechnic, Jammu provides quality education and training programmes in specific areas of Engineering, Technology and Management through formal and non-formal modes of delivery. The Polytechnic keeps pace with the changing times by designing new programmes, upgrading the curricula of existing programmes, developing and modernizing the infrastructure and organising staff development programmes on a regular basis.
