Gharda Institute Of Technology
Foundation, Dr. Gharda conceived an ambitious project of GIT, at a scenic location of Lavel in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra for the benefit of ambitious intelligent students of rural region, aspiring to become engineers. GIT has been incepted from the academic year 2007-08.
Spread over an area of 65 acres, GIT is located in lush green Sahyadri range of Konkan, on Mumbai-Goa highway, about 250 Kms. South of Mumbai at Lavel, Taluka Khed, District Ratnagiri. The place is with very clean atmosphere and has a healthy climate.
GIT has built-up area for academic activities of about 14,200 sq.mtrs. spread in five buildings. The architecture and construction work matches with the surrounding greenery and a naturally occurring laterite.
The classrooms, laboratories and passages are having adequate natural lighting-ventilation and desired spaciousness.
The furniture is preferably to take care of ergonomics and equipments of reputed companies and recent generation. Within a span of five years, the Institute has achieved a very good name and appreciations from visitors including educationists, engineers, scientists, businessmen etc.
Recognized by AICTE, approved by Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra & affiliated to University of Mumbai, GIT has excellent infrastructure, devoted, dedicated, highly qualified and experienced staff and ambience to suit learning and overall development. Located around 250 Kms. South of Mumbai, on Mumbai-Goa highway (NH-66) and well connected by Konkan railway (Chiplun-Khed), GIT is fast emerging as a complete, engineering education residential campus with no distractions and excellent ambience to study, grow and develop oneself in totality.
GIT offers an opportunity not only to become an academically sound employable graduate engineer with overall personality development but also preserves and enhances potential of creativity, entrepreneurship and infuses Responsible Citizenship.

At GIT, excellent facilities exist for students on sharing basis. Boys' Hostel buildings accommodate around 500 students, while Girls Hostel around 250. Good Security and communication system exists along with round the clock availability of caretaker and rector. Each group of seven students, a Teacher has been assigned a responsibility of local guardian.
Out of 130 Teaching & Non-teaching Staff, 50% of the staff and Principal have been provided accommodation on campus.
