The College of Teacher Education (PGT), also known by its former nomenclature of PGT-Post Graduate Training (College) is located in the heart of Shillong. The seed of this Teacher Training College at Shillong was sown during the Centenary year of Swami Vivekananda (1963), to commemorate the centenary of the great teacher in a befitting manner.
The college's primary focus is to develop compassionate, professionally excellent and ethically sound teachers who will be torch bearers of society and civilization through education and training imbibed with a vision to serve the community with zeal, commitment and devotion.
