Overview

Mass Communication is the academic study of various methods by which individuals and people transmit information by mass media. The broadcasting of news is done by newspapers, magazines, television, and films. Advertising agencies are also included in the field of mass communication.

A Bachelors in Mass Communication is a three-year duration course that gives you an insight into the various methods of using journalism and electronic media. This gives you ample exposure to journalism, advertising, Public Relations, films, and production. Basically, journalism is more concerned with the collection and broadcasting of the news with the help of different media types available like print media, electronic media etc.

1st Year:
Human Communication, Hindi, English, Basic Skills Writing, Computer Application, Print Media, Basic Camera Handling, Advertising Industry, Film Study, Anchoring, Reporting

2nd Year:
Social Science-1, Social Science-2, Mass Communication, News Writing, Production Portfolio-1, Electronic Media, Advertising  Industry, PR Industry, Graphic Design, Editing (FCP)

3rd Year:
Reporting, Editing, Advertising & Public Relation, Media Issues, Production Portfolio(2), Advertising Design, Case Study, Film Marketing, Documentary Making, New Media Technology

Admission Process:
Most of the institute condust the entrance exam for the admission. Entrance Exam divided into two sections 
     1. Objective Section
     2. Descriptive Section

Objective Section Consist questions on:
     Numerical ability
     Conceptual knowledge
     General English
     General Awareness

Further Study: 
It is also a prerequisite for further in-depth studies in the field of mass communication for better career options.
  • After completing the bachelor degree one can go for a Post Graduation course in mass communication. For Post graduate level Courses student need to be graduate in any discipline from  recognized university with at least 50% to 60% marks . 
  • After Master Degree one can pursue this course of PhD in Mass communication. For this course, the master's level degree should be of a well recognised institute or university of India.
